Transparency is an essential component in competitive product markets. However, some information shared among rival firms can lessen competition in product markets and impact negatively on consumers. CCC's presentations at the Competition Policy Seminar in St.Lucia

The Government of Saint Lucia hosted a two-day Competition Policy Seminar for the country's private and public sector on December 10-11, 2013. The seminar was held in collaboration with the CARICOM Secretariat Office of Trade Negotiations (OTN), the CARICOM Competition Commission (CCC) and other national competition authorities. The CCC delivered four presentations on:

Abuse of Dominance

the Role of the CCC and the Rules of Procedures

Knowledge of Competition Policy and Law in the Business sector

Restricted Agreements and Concerted practices.

CCC's presentation at Chamber of Commerce in Suriname

Given that Suriname is in the process of enacting its national Competition law, it was felt necessary to continue to educate the local business sector on Competition law and policy. The CCC therefore delivered a presentation at a meeting held by the Suriname Chamber of Commerce (KKF) Entrepreneurs on 18 February, 2014. The presentation outlined: (1) the importance of Competition law and policy to Suriname; and (2) the mandate, functions and work of the CCC in the Community. For the presentation please click here.
